THE 41st BALI ARTS FESTIVAL 2019
The community does not miss in giving their time and energy to the organisation of the festival as this activity has been inherent as a Balinese soul and identity for decades since 1979. Artists, communities, tourists, and news coverage will flood the streets. They scramble to take part in the implementation of the event.
Every city and district are required to send delegates to display artworks. The committee also needs to check and ensure each region’s preparation regularly, given that the festival involves so many art groups and requires sufficient coordination..
In 2019, its 41st edition was held by adopting Bayupramana as its theme. In its description, the concept of Bayupramana originates from two words namely “banyu” which means air and “pramana” – strength. According to its theme initiator, I Nyoman Suarka, Bayupramana can be interpreted as the breath of life. The meaning is transformed into an artwork, all of which will be related to the air element. The theme is then turned into dances, theatres, and carnivals along with competitions involving all Balinese people and tourists. A few days prior to the festival, Bali suddenly becomes a buzzing area. People are coming in droves to prepare themselves to enliven the 2019 Bali Arts Festival.
